History...

We always knew that we wanted kids. Most of our friends thought that we would be the first of the married couples to have them. We decided to wait a couple of years. We finally decided that it was time to stop preventing pregnancy and when it happens we would be ready. Well, I stoped the pill and it was over 3 months before I got a period. Then, I got it a few times in one month. Completely sick of what was going on, I threw the towel in and went to the doctor. After numerous blood tests my doctor decided to do an ultrasound. "Very polycystic" were her exact words. We tried a round of clomid through my regular obgyn office. I do NOT recommend this. It is completely unmonitored. Well, it did not work. My progesterone level came back 0.4 There were NO signs of ovulation. So, I made an appointment for a reproductive endicrinologist. Now we currently see Dr. T. Dr. T has been great from the start. He is very supportive of both of us and always has something positive to say. We need that. Now at his office, after numerous additional tests including a 2 hour glucose test he started me on 100 mg of clomid. This is twice the strength of my previous round. 100 mg on day 13 only made a few smaller follicles. The largest was 11mm. At that point he gave me 150 mgs of clomid to boost them. I am waiting for my next ultrasound to see if they have grown at all.

About Me

I've been married for 3 years. My husband and I have two dogs. We built our dream home and are waiting to fill the empty rooms! We are learning that getting pregnant is not nearly as easy as we thought it would be. I'm 25 and was recently diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). I don't have any of the classic signs with the exception of my "very polycystic" ovaries that I keep hearing about! Follow us on our journey as we are refusing to be infertile!
